What does Smart Fast PC do?
Smart Fast PC cleans up all the registry errors, junk files and privacy risks that build up on your computer and cause it to slow down or even freeze up.
Features include:
- Find and remove registry errors to prevent crashes and help speed up your computer.
- Remove privacy and temporary files to protect your privacy.
- Delete residual files to free disk space and improve performance.
- Remove broken short cuts.
- Tweak a variety of system and windows settings for optimal performance.
- Remove unnecessary programs from starting with Windows to increase the start-up speed, free up memory and improve performance.
What is the Windows registry?
The Windows registry stores settings and options for Microsoft Windows. Over time, the registry gradually grows in size and gets cluttered with invalid and obsolete data which slows Windows down and causes other problems.
Keeping your registry clean and optimized can help improve your PCs performance.
Why should I defrag my PC?
Sometimes when you install a program or create a data file, the file ends up divided into sections and stored in multiple locations on the disk. This is called fragmentation.
Running defrag gathers all the scattered file fragments and writes them into adjacent clusters, so each file occupies a continuous section of disk.
The way files are organized on your hard drive affects the performance of your computer. If your files are stored neatly, end-to-end, without fragmentation, reading and writing to the disk will be faster and your computer will be more efficient.
Can I undo changes made by Smart Fast PC?
Every time you use Smart Fast PC to remove registry errors or junk files a log file is created. Smart Fast PC stores these log files so that you can go back and restore the deleted items if you experience any problems.
To restore deleted items:
1. Click on the Settings Tab
2. Click on the Log & Undo button
3. Select Undo
4. Select the log file you wish to undo and click on the Undo button.
5. You will need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect
Can I exclude items such as registry keys or files from scans?
Yes, you can exclude items from the scans but there are some things you should be aware of:
Excluding Registry Keys - We recommend extreme caution when excluding registry paths. If invalid registry keys are created under the path which you excluded then Smart Fast PC will not be able to track those registries and therefore will not be able to fully clean and optimize your registry.
Excluding Files - There may be certain files, for example cookies containing log-in credentials, which you know you don't want to delete and would rather exclude from future scans. Use the Exclusion List to exclude any files you do not wish included in future scans.
How to set up exclusion lists:
1. Click on the Settings Tab
2. Select Exclusion Lists
3. Select if you wish to exclude Registry Keys or Files
4. Enter the name and location for the registry keys or files you wish to exclude
If you've already chosen to exclude certain files during a privacy scan those files will be displayed and you will be able to add to that list or remove any files you no longer wish to exclude.
What does your Speed Guard feature do?
When Speed Guard is activated it keeps track as registry errors, junk files and privacy risks start to build up on your PC again. Speed Guard monitors these errors right from your system tray. When you notice the number of errors rising you can launch Smart Fast PC directly and remove the issues immediately.
Can I set up automatic scans?
Yes, in fact we recommend it. Take advantage of this feature to run automatic scans at convenient times and keep your PC clean and optimized.
Set up automatic scans:
1. Click on the Settings Tab
